Sweetened by Nature

Refined White Sugar

Your body breaks down refined sugar faster, causing insulin and blood sugar levels to rise. Because of this, you don't feel full. And bad news for vegans - some white sugar is refined using bone char.

Stevia & Sugar Alcohols

Many brands use sugars like stevia, monk fruit, or erythritol to sweeten their products. This provides a sweet taste without the added sugar. But these ingredients are known for things like a bad aftertaste and stomach upset.

Dates

Dates are full of antioxidants (in particular flavonoids, carotenoids, and phenolic acid) and they contain lots of fiber. Also great: they don't need processing and they are a low glycemic sugar.

Coconut Sugar

Coconut sugar is made by extracting the sap of a coconut palm tree, boiling, and then dehydrating it. It has a lower glycemic index than other sweeteners (no sugar spike/crash). In 2014, it was named coconut sugar the most sustainable sweetener in the world.

Coconut Nectar

Coconut nectar is the sap that comes from the coconut palm tree. It’s the stuff that coconut sugar is made from. Like coconut sugar, it retains it's trace nutritients (Vitamins B and C, 17 amino acids), unlike refined sugar.

Oat-based

Whole Grain Oats

Rich in soluble fiber, studies have consistently shown that oats can help reduce cholesterol, reduce the risk of developing high blood pressure, and are rich in antioxidants. Oats also make the cookies more dense, which means you can feel satisfied after one or two.

Oat Flour

We also use oat flour, which is just a fancy way of saying "more oats" but pulverized into a flour. No additional refinement goes into making oat flour.

Oat Fiber

Oat fiber is made by taking the hull or outer husk of an oat and grinding it up. It has no calories, no fat and no net carbs. It is a great source of - you guessed it - fiber.
