Sugar Conscious cookie brand now available in military commissaries across the US.
Los Angeles, CA: Maxine’s Heavenly, a Los Angeles-based company that makes decadent but better-for-you cookies for the sugar conscious consumer, is now available to military families through the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA).
DeCA has a long-standing mission to provide better-for-you products at the commissaries because family readiness is a paramount initiative for the military. The decision to introduce military patrons to Maxine’s Heavenly came from the brand’s tremendous growth in civilian grocery stores, and because Maxine’s Heavenly serves the needs and wants of many consumers—from gluten free, to naturally sweetened, to plant-based, to non-GMO and kosher.
DeCA was especially excited by the brand’s decision to sweeten with coconut sugar and dates. Traditionally, they have only been able to offer brands that use more refined sugars and flours.
“I’m very excited to be able to work with DeCA to share our products with the people who work every single day to protect our country,” said Robert Petrarca, Maxine’s Heavenly CEO. “To think of our cookies providing homemade taste and clean ingredients as fuel for our military is an incredibly rewarding feeling.”
Maxine’s Heavenly is currently in approximately 1,500+ stores throughout the United States, including major retailers like Whole Foods, Natural Grocers, Jewel-Osco, and Walmart.
