They are not the same as they used to be-

The Cinnamon Oatmeal Raisin cookies have changed. I have been ordering these cookies for years and they were hearty and good. The last boxes I ordered have the cookies individually wrapped and they are not the same; they are soft and gooey and fall apart easily. It seems like they have less oats to hold them together, and they are almost too sweet. Very disappointing. Bring back the old recipe please!

Soft and Tasty Cookies.

Maxine’s Heavenly cookies are good. They give me a energy pick up. They are on the expensive therefore, I try to buy them when they are on sell.

All 3 varieties were excellent. The chocolate fudge was, however, outstanding. I will soon be placing another order!

Thankful the old recipe is back!

Sooo happy the old cookie recipe is back! Delicious, soft, and satisfying! Please get rid of the dry, flavorless “new” recipe.

Cinnamon oatmeal

Loved them. Sweetness just right. The grains weren't so large they were hard to swallow, and nothing stuck my gums.

Sweetened by Nature™

Our decadent, naturally sweetened cookies make it easy to turn your love/hate relationship with sugar into one that’s ALL LOVE. Having a sweet tooth is natural—the sugar you eat should be natural too!

In an effort to be “healthy”, many have veered towards manufactured zero calorie sugar alcohols and refined sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit to satisfy their cravings. But Mother Nature tastes pretty good all on her own, and our bodies prefer it!

So we started with Maxine’s original recipe and swapped out the unhealthy ingredients for better ones, including substituting refined, bleached white sugar with coconut sugar and dates.

FAQs

Why are Maxine's Heavenly cookies so filling / satisfying?

We've all been the victims of cookies. You eat and eat and eat and are never satisfied.

But not with Maxine's Heavenly! Our soft-baked cookies are very satiating—you can eat one or two and feel full.

There are several reasons for this:

- Our cookies aren't made with empty calories. All our ingredients hold nutritional value, which your hunger hormones respond well to.

- Our first ingredient is oats, which are a naturally filling whole grain due to the high fiber content.

- We use low glycemic sugars, which move through your system slower.

- Traditional cookies made with heavily refined flours and sugars don't provide much nutritional value, so they leave you wanting more. Your body reacts well to real, natural ingredients like the ones in Maxine's Heavenly cookies!

Are these cookies made with 100% unrefined, natural sugar?

We use coconut sugar and dates to sweeten our cookies. These are unrefined, lower glycemic sugars that don't cause a sugar spike/crash and are as close to the original plant as you can get.

Faced with the alternatives of using refined, high glycemic table sugar or alternative sugars that can cause an aftertaste and stomach upset, we felt that using these coconut sugar and dates was the most natural way to sweeten our treats.

Coconut sugar comes from the sap of a coconut palm tree and does not taste like coconut at all.

Please note that our chocolate chunks currently contain organic cane sugar. We have found it challenging to source reasonably priced chocolate chunks without cane sugar, though our team is working diligently on this. In the meantime, we use chocolate chunks with organic cane sugar. While it is refined somewhat, it has not been refined using chemicals or bleaching, which is the top priority for us and the main reason we dislike regular white sugar. All of our non-chocolate flavors are made with fully unrefined sugars.

Are your cookies allergy-friendly?

Our cookies are free from many of the top allergens:

- Milk
- Eggs
- Wheat
- Soy
- Corn
- Fish/Shellfish

Many of our flavors do contain nuts and all flavors are made on shared equipment. Cross-contamination of nuts is possible. You should not eat our cookies if you have a nut allergy.

As for tree nuts, we use coconut in the form of coconut sugar and nectar. While the FDA classifies coconuts as tree nuts, most people who are allergic to tree nuts are able to eat coconut. Please note that coconut sugar and nectar is made from the sap of flower buds from the coconut palm tree, not coconuts themselves.

Are your cookies healthy?

While we use the term "healthy cookies" from time to time, we are aware that health means different things to different people.

In general, we view a healthy cookie to mean one made with nutritious, natural ingredients and without empty calories. We are particularly proud that we have made such delicious cookies from natural sugars. Many cookies that are marketed as healthy are made with highly refined sweeteners like monk fruit, stevia, and erythritol that your body can't digest.

So, yes, we think we are a healthy cookies. What we are not is:

- A weight loss cookie

- A paleo cookie

- A keto cookie

- A low calorie cookie

- A low carb cookie

Those things in and of themselves aren't necessarily healthy.

Are your cookies vegan?

Yes.

We're proud to be a vegan brand. We feel that producing plant-based products is not only better for our bodies, but also better for the environment, and of course cruelty-free!

Are your products gluten free?

Yes, our soft-baked cookies are certified gluten free through the Gluten Free Certification Organization.

We're excited to be able to offer gluten free cookies that actually taste good! We know that for far too long, Celiacs and others on a gluten-free diet have had to make do with some less-than-delicious products. We work hard to create gluten free baked goods that taste just like homemade.

Please note that our cookies contain oats. While oats are naturally gluten free, some people who are sensitive to gluten are also not able to eat oats.
